Christian Vieler is a 45 year-old photographer from Waltrop, Germany, who shot some fun pics about dogs in the past three years. The portrait photography’s way has been initially taken by chance: after having bought a camera in 2012 without knowing how to use it, Christian decided to immortalize his dog to figure it out.
“Every shoot I am looking for that specific moment when the dog is looking as cute or funny as he can be,” said Vieler. “That cannot be seen without the power of freezing motion – dog’s faces with magnificent lineaments, telling us panic, desire and joy’ stories.” He told Bored Panda that he’s inspired by “every dog-personality and a good portion of humor.”
He immediately started posting photos on his Facebook page, called “Fotos Frei Schnauzer”. But when he reached more than 50.000 followers who asked him to post more pics, he couldn’t stop there.
These portraits capture the unique facial expression right before the snack’s catch. Some dogs look shocked or confused. Others appear to be joyful or sad. Then, there are some very fun ones, that look so nonchalant about the snack flying towards them that they actually miss it.
